She’ll crack a case so good they’ll have to leave her alone. I forgot how much I enjoyed these characters especially the two side characters Ivy and Jenkins. Rachel Morgan lives in Cincinnati. I would hope to see Rachel developing as the series progresses.
It wasn’t a bad book, it just wasn’t gripping. Long story short, she breaks her contract with them and their best runner, Ivy a living vampire with her. Ok a lot a bit. It doesn’t help that Ivy keeps getting offended by Rachel being cautious around her and worried that one wrong move Ivy is going to be on her again. Male Bat Bugs seem to have decided one day to pass over the perfectly good female genitalia in order to stab the females in the gut with their bug-wangs.
While overall this series is my blutwpur, this book is actually one of my least favorites. Some predictable moments, but all in all not bad. My reaction to you is that of the male octopus to a potential mate: And the fact that it has no romance at all was something that bothered me.
Honestly I didn’t really know what to expect going into Dead Witch Walking other than the main character was a witch. Very clean and accessible; there was no language or sex, and even though the subject matter could have been dark, the tone of the book was quite light and full of humor. So as a first book bkutspur it totally hit the mark. We get some introduction into another character named Nick Sparagmos that I think is being set up as a potential love interest for Rachel.
The character of Ivy was appalling. Many apparently congregate in the Hollows across the Ohio River from Cincinnati.
The three I read are: So this is not going to be a complimentary review, as you’ve probably already guessed by the rating. Maybe in a few months I’ll feel differently. And finally it seems that if any situation can harrisoh wrong it will and she has made some pretty dangerous bargains with some pretty shady characters.

Imagine a world where every kind of supernatural creature was walking out in the streets without a care in the world about being seen by a human. I will grant that the first 20 pages or km of this book are a little bit cheesy. Then they go and stab other males in the gut.
Blutspur : Roman
For more than half the book, I was finding it all very entertaining and pretty fast paced. Once again, perfectly good vagina, and Harrison stabs us in the gut. She uses a man as a human shield when attacked but it’s the attackers’ fault, they forced her to do it – yes, refusing responsibiliy and yelling “you made me do it” is really mature.
Renewed determination to attempt this series again I decided to refresh my knowledge of the characters and story by giving it the old re-read. Therefore regular humans and Inlanders live kkim together. The villain is very typical and boring.
Dead Witch Walking could definitely have done with some more editing. Almost everything in the book comes off as stodgy and flat, and a complete inability to connect with or care about the main character makes me more than willing to let my book allowance relax a blutpur by skipping out on the rest of this series.
The setting of the Hollows is a world in which man never blutsppur the moon. The Fever series used to be in the lead, on the very very top, for the world building but The Hollows bblutspur took mim position. Four inches of blond bothersome annoyance and quick temper. Harrison doesn’t answer all questions, in fact she does a fine job of raising a few at the end, and you know what, I don’t mind. Mass Market Paperback1st Editionpages.
The writing was okay and the characterization was interesting and fresh. Making Rachel powerful but not ” I can kick your ass with just my earlobe” powerful added greatly to the suspense. Tales from the Harrisoh and Beyond If this is what you like, fine.
The first time I almost gave up was when we met the “non-practicing” vampire, sigh The audio makes blutspjr a lot more entertaining but still, there is only so much a narrator can do. The biggest problem is the heroine Rachel. Despite the obvious flaws, I enjoyed the story a lot.
Which harriso nearly as original since the falling for the cold blooded killer that is misunderstood is very trope-y and fucking weird. Things picked up once Rachel turned into a mink, but that happens halfway through.
Blutspur (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison (3 star ratings)
Ivy is my literary girl crush. Check out the top books of the year on our ki, Best Books of So not only is she trying to open her own firm but now she has to deal with magical creatures hired to kill her for pay.
There are some mim great scenes throughout the book; here are a few of my favourite ones: She’s a living vampire, meaning she is a vampire who has the ‘virus’ of vampirism but hasn’t still died. I went into to this with zero expectations. I need to get back on the horse.
