As long as you don’t make it freely available online to everyone (some of the PDFs get watermarked with the name of the buyer, so they can. In that case I’d give it a pass. Has anyone made any experiences with this? If the DriveThruRPG watermark shows on the prints, are there other. When I first started buying books on RPGNow, there were no watermarks. Suddenly, within the past few years, every book suddenly has.

If we bought a copy of the book in this fashion, could each member of the group access the book from their computers, or does DRM limit how many devices you can view it on?
OGL and Creative Commons is a beautiful example of the original intentions of Copy Right law, to achieve a rich public domain where everyone can add to a media. On the license bit, the right of first sale doctrine almost certainly trumps any contract law. That’s “only” 87 dollars, priced down from the “regular” dollar cost. In this case I’d wager you’re also violating the license of the book most digital products are licensed, not sold and the terms of service for DTRPG.
I’m a strong proponent of encouraging developers. If there is and it forbids the kind of use you’re describing, then you have to choose to either be legit, or ignore the rules and handle the consequences if they arise.

We try to keep the lists below up to date with active subreddits and prune it from time to time. This company’s wealth is in large part drawn from the public domain. And when it costs the company no money to have something duplicated, and it isnt for monetary gain, does it still fall under the original intention of copyright recooping costs?
I personally don’t believe that piracy seriously impacts sales. Here is a great documentary drivethrurpv touches on what I mean.
I think I’ll just see if the group is willing to order a physical copy or something. That said, I don’t believe in copyright law philosophically nor patents, trademarks and trade secret laws are fine but could probably be tweaked. Rules These rules can be viewed in greater detail here. Yeah, that’s our main problem with the PDF. The question is if placing a link to the ones I ‘own’ the use of so others can view it on their screens than my screen is stealing or not. Post zapped after drivethdurpg the politics warning above.

The book is so absurdly priced that it’s not affordable, and even the PDF version is 30 freakin’ dollars. Dingo how do batch process it?
Anybody farming the drivethruepg out isn’t wahermark to pass around their account password instead of the PDF itself Just FYI, this falls within your rights.
The character creation process could be done before games, if only on days where we aren’t particularly pressed for time, but my players are very picky about which powers they’re getting for their characters and enjoy researching it at home when possible.
A question about DrivethruRPG self. I recall the drivethrkrpg as well, but haven’t seen mention of it in quite a while IIRC, it was a 5 time dl thing unless you contact us to reset it, likely to avoid rampant piracy.
Making a copy of a physical book is better analogy. I need to remove some stupid email watermark that expands across all pages of a public domain book. Who would pay 30 freaking dollars for a pdf copy?
Thank you for your interest in this question.
Will the DriveThruRPG pdf watermark print? – WFRP Gamemasters – FFG Community
A big theory is that copyright law was brought in because the cost of for example, creating a dgivethrurpg or a machine from scratch was an exact art, and ofcourse it took alot of time to reproduce these, and so therefor it was put in place that if someone was reproducing these, it’d be at a cost, and therefor most likely there to make a profit.
Someone starting out making a machine wouldn’t have the facilities to do so and so a big bisuness could swoop in, copy it and out put an exact replica without any development cost in a more efficient cost per item for each piece than the small developer. Would you like to answer drivefhrurpg of these unanswered questions instead?
If there isn’t, then to be honest, you can pretty much use it how you like. I had to first uncompress the PDF document in order to be able to find the watermark and replace it with sed.
And apparently, that 30 dollar price is half the “regular” suggested price for the PDF which is marked at 60 dollars on that site. Results 31 to 40 of Submit a new text post. Legally, it’s most likely piracy.
