By the book’s description I was worried I would dislike Chelsea but she actually hannha the right thing right off the bat. And then all these reviews were popping up, giving Speechless four stars, five stars! She realizes a little too late that She has to do the right thing and speak up.

She makes no excuse. Obviously, with the rating of 5 hearts, I loved it. If only she can forgive herself. And if she thinks keeping secrets is hard, not speaking up when she’s ignored, ridiculed and even attacked is Everyone knows that Chelsea Knot can’t keep a secret Until now.

I love that they were the kind of seconday characters that weren’t forgettable. The least I can do is shut up. In the most restrained, honest, age-appropriate manner. Gossiping and telling secrets, talking about people behind their back or anonymously without mentioning them on Twitterthat’s bullying. Chelsea may have done it before, but thankfully, she woke up and see the reality that her best friend wasn’t her worth at all.

And if she thinks keeping secrets is hard, not speaking up when she’s ignored, ridiculed and even attacked is worse. The depths and brilliance of which could just be taken at face value or be better appreciated by recognizing that if you allow it, life can be an endless John Hughes film.

All of whom felt like real characters despite their limited appearance in the book. There’s nothing twee about this contemporary. I have to admit that Saving June still remains to be my favorite Harrington novel, but Speechless is an impeccable sophomore novel regardless.

But there isn’t anything golden behind Chelsea’s vow of silence – in fact, the truth is as black and dappled with purple as Noah’s healing bruise.

Chelsea grows as a person, making new friends, learning to bite her tongue and developing a stronger sense of self.

Sometimes dense, sometimes perceptive. So she very much deserves a chance at new love, too. Asha, Sam and Andy were all genuinely great people.

She connected with authentic people she would have missed out on by being so fake. It’s a beautifully written work and I would no doubt look into Harrington’s other works.

Her character definitely bugged me in so many ways but when bad things started happening to her it was so easy to sympathize with her situation. Yes, it started bitchy, but of course the story became better and there’s hqnnah lot a reader can learn from it, as Chelsea does.

I loved her voice, she really cracked me up. She became a much better person by just shutting her mouth and paying attention to the people and places around her. Because the last secret she shared turned her into a social outcast—and nearly got someone killed. Can’t wait to see what Hannah Harrington writes next! Would you like to tell us about a lower price? Now that Chelsea has seen the error of her ways she decides to take a vow of silence.

Now, after finishing the book, I definitely have to say that despite her weaknesses, I enjoyed reading from Chelsea’s point of view and did not resent her for her actions – although I probably should have.
