I am not a fan of psychoanalysis, and do not believe that one must undergo this sort of work before engaging in a magickal practice. The classic book on working with the energy of the body for spiritual purposes, The Middle Pillar by Israel Regardie, is now more complete, more modern, more usable, and better than ever.
The Cicero’s once again breathe new life into an old classic text. Since isrsel time, the exercise has been altered and adapted for just about any spiritual use you could think of.
A core work for advancement of the self. Malini Chaudhri Internet archives. Has some nice relaxation exercises that also do not mddle up in other pkllar books including one with circulation that I don’t believe I’ve seen anywhere.
Some of the book, the part that focussed on psychoanalysis, A very good book. The writer of this article is a psychologist who has long searched for a quick, safe, and easy means to help patients integrate various aspects of their mind into a healthy, unified whole. Golden Dawn Magical Tarot. This book really digs deep into your soul. The daily rituals are the most commonly practiced techniques by the modern Occultist, Beginner and Adept alike; for one to halt their practice altogether would most likely prove to be unwise.

As a qualified psychiatric nurse, I must admit that my appraisal may be somewhat coloured by my existing familiarity with much of the material, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that the portion of the book penned by the Cicero’s is so much more accessible and enjoyable to read. Not that I’m into all of the magical aura stuff, but an interesting read nonetheless.
Francis Israel Regardie died in It is a mainstay of many Western traditions of magic. Regardie’s enthusiasm is an intiation unto itself.
I mean I will go back to it, and I definitely like the key statement that psychotherapy is maybe the first “ritual” someone should learn on their journey into magic, but for now, I don’t know–I just never want to be reminded that I pjllar reading a book written in the s when I am actually doing that, which is obvs more my problem than Regardie’s.

The second half of the book sets out to do what Regardie wished he could have done from the beginning, as outlined in Regardie’s own introduction. He taught psychiatry at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and contributed articles to many psychology magazines.
